Belvoir Self Storage Frequently Asked Questions

What can I not store in my container?

Firstly, if in doubt ask us. The above and following is not an exhaustive list, but hopefully gives some idea:
- Explosives, firearms, ammunition, tyres, chemicals, paints, oils, fuel, or anything flammable

(combustion engines must be fully drained of fuel)
- Hazardous waste materials, building waste or illegal substances
- Proceeds from crime
- Foodstuffs and items that may perish or rot
- Damp or wet items - white goods must be fully defrosted and drained, 
- Anything liable to stain or damage the unit.
- Animals or plant products

What can I store in my container?

Our containers are ideal for storage of household items, bikes and sports equipment office archiving and anything that will fit inside. Please contact us if you have any query or question, if you are unsure what, or what not you can store within the units.

Is there a minimum or maximum rental period?

At Belvoir self-storage our shortest rental agreement is 1 month spanning all the way up to as long as you want it. We only ask for a months’ notice when terminating your rental agreement.

Will my container ever get damp or full of condensation?

We pride ourselves with our containers being the best quality. Equipped with fully insulated Elasto spray lined roofs, coupled with brand new container and multiple air vents this will  vastly reduce condensation or damp from getting inside the container vs a generic non insulated container

What times can I access my container at the site?

You can visit your container anytime from the hours of 7:00AM-8:00PM 365 days a year.

 

Do we take a deposit from you?

We take a £25 deposit at the start of your rental agreement. This is to cover 1 key and 1 padlock. You will receive this deposit back at the end of your rental agreement on the basis of there being no damage to the padlock and key.

 

Can we supply our own padlock and keys?

Our containers come with industry leading patented locks and keys that are specifically designed to fit within the welded lockbox provided on the container, offering the safest and most secure method of keeping the container fortified.

 

Can I have more than one container?

Yes, of course. Based on the amount of available containers on the site you can rent as many as you like that fits your particular needs within reason.

 

How do I reserve or book the container(s)

You can reserve your container(s) by either contacting me on 07881 974351 or filling in our form on our website. We will then check for existing availability and get back to you within 24 hours.

 

What size are your containers?

All containers are brand new and 20ft long by 8ft wide in metric, this equates to 6.09 metres by 2.4 metres.

Where is your site located?

Our site is located in Easthorpe, Bottesford, Nottinghamshire, NG13 0DX. Approximately 7 miles from Grantham, 7 miles from Bingham, 9 miles from Newark and 15 miles from Nottingham. We are situated 200 yards off the A52 suiting access to any sized vehicle that may arrive at our site.

 

What do you charge for the rental of a container per month or year?

We charge a monthly rate of £120 including VAT, or an annual rate of £1440. Equating to £3.94 per day or £27.60 per week.

How do I pay and when?

At Belvoir self-storage we ask for rental monies to be paid on the first of every calendar month. If you happen to move in at the end of the month you will receive an invoice for the final days you had that month and starting from the 1st it will go back to the original £120 per month. We recommend setting up a direct debit for ease of payment.

Do you do removals?

At this current moment in time we don’t offer removal services. Most of our customers use either their own vehicle or hire a van if needed. We would be more than happy to recommend a local removal company to you.

 

Do you offer insurance for goods inside the container?

We don’t offer our own insurance service for valuables stored inside the container. We would recommend you contact your insurance company and explain a rough price evaluation of items stored inside your container(s) and they will help you from there.

Do I sign an agreement when renting a container?

Being members of the Self-Storage Association, they have provided a professionally written contract with small print of everything you need to know about what you can store and cannot store in the container as well as information regarding payment. We require you to sign this and fill in all your details before agreeing to the rental of your container. We keep a copy for our administration and you will also keep a copy. This will be given to you by George the facility owner when viewing your container or enquiring for one via our contact form on our website.
